The idea of a "Moderate" is almost depressing. There are almost no actual moderates, there are liberals who somehow are under the impression that liberalism is something to be ashamed of. That's crap. There was also no such thing as "working toward a bipartisan solution" with the Republican Majority, because all they ever brought up were partisan issues. Constitutional Amendment banning gay marraige? What's the "moderate" compromise? A footnote?

"Moderates" as well as people who claim to be "apolitical" are really just liberals who are ashamed of it. Who believe (and some of these are, sadly, direct quotes) that liberalism is all about getting abortions with a smile on your face and orgies, so they distance themselves from that by claiming they are somehow in the middle and must be pandered too.

Oh, and there are also idiots who don't know what they're talking about who vote for just about anyone. Those are apparently "Moderates" too. They tend to vote Republican though, then hate the candidate they voted for only to vote for the next Republican candidate.

Although, as a side, there is one kind of moderate. Semi-social liberals and Democrats who struggle with their religious identity. I've met a few of them and I don't want to belittle them. I know a guy who doesn't have anything against homosexuals or pro-choice people (and those who go through with it) but was a social conservative who wants to be a priest and doesn't know what to do. All .1% of the "Moderates" fall under that catagory.
