The mayor had taken this downturn as an excuse to shaft us. What is peculiar the metropolitan area around my city and the city has not been significantly effected as other areas. The revenues that are down could possibly be found, just in the way the city does business. I think if they are many municipal unions left when the economy improves they will have very little power. In better times our unions have done nothing to prepare for when a strike is needed. This one is needed, the public also needs to find out that their taxes will not go down if they have non union workers. They have been made to think that we are better off than them.
