I think you might be right. You are certainly right about the need for strong organization if your going to overcome large monied interests. So focusing on image for a moment. I know Edwards had deep appeal with me, but I am a white middle class New Yorker and substance and style probably had the most sway on me. And I think actually that that is the case with all people assuming that they have the time or the motivation to pay close attention. But of course, most people do not have the inclination or the time to delve into the details of specific policy and that leads to the type of image based politics that you are talking about. Said that Edwards did not learn from Bryan because I think he was capable of it. Inspired insight as always. I think you might be right.
