I obviously don't know your New Orleans, but the New Orleans I do know is backed up by data rather than opinion. I suspect that unlike others of your race you made it out of Katrina OK, but that was unusual. And then there is your wonderful dual school system.

If "liberals"--whatever you mean by that--are killing people of color please feel free to join the GOP if Strom Thurmond.

You apparently know nothing about the histroy of New Orleans. As a fifth generation New Orleanian, the races mixed well and easily unless in the presence of a "furiner" who would disapprove. Hence it was the perfect backdrop for the interracial story as told. Many black women raised white children and in many instances, even today, you cannot tell a person is white or black just by looking at him or her because of the relative freedom and intermixing of the races. Even yankees came down south and had two families. One with a white woman and one with a black and the children, although not all, could be interchanged unknowingly. As a dark black women who now in 2010 has relatives who are first and second cousins who get jobs because the employer thinks that they are white, I know.

Liberalism is killing black people. I hope that we turn away from it sooner rather than later.

You may be on to something--as you often are. There does seem to be a historical/generational gap lurking behind many of our problems.

I don't think many people under 45 would understand what you are talking about. That include many blacks. They can not understand why we old folks are still outraged. It is like the Civil rights laws of 1964 erase all of our childhood and coming of age memories.
Blacks now are accepting equity in the relativism of reverse racism.
