When do you all wake up and understand blaming others is becoming the American way and extremely unproductive. Take responsibility for you representatives....they passed the bills that got us here. they confirmed the people to run the government oversight departments and they all collectively got it wrong. vote them out and stop blaming bush, clinton or any other president for our problems. we caused them so senator dodd should be unemployed soon. so should the head of the SEC and any others you finally decide to hold accountable.

You don't have the facts. Your conclusions are incorrect. Typical liberal. You try so I'll give you a D-. Look up Community Restoration Act. Review CSPAN hearings on correcting accounting abuses by F-mac F-mae. Note who is denying and who is saying there is trouble. D=Dumb, R=Responsible if you need help next to the names. Read this NYT article, note the warnings buried in the body and the end of the article.

When you understand what happened, you'll change parties. I did. I will not vote for another democrat this year. The corruption is staggering.

I did mention the pen. It is in fact the centerpiece of several of my pieces on Glass-Steagall. Just thought readers were getting tired of hearing about it. Thanks for the reminder.

Did you know the actual pen that Bill Clinton signed the Gramm-Leach Bliley Act was given by President Clinton to Sandy Weill as a gift. It was a bi-partisan effort. You should of mentioned that. The final bipartisan bill resolving the differences was passed in the Senate 90-8-1 and in the House: 362-57-15. Without forcing a veto vote, this bipartisan, veto proof legislation was signed into law by President Bill Clinton on November 12, 1999. [4]
