Thank you for this. I learned of this speech while reading, “Franklin and Eleanor–an Extraordinary Marriage” by Hazel Rowley. Ms. Rowley’s reference to this one sparked my curiosity, and I am grateful to have read the text and your background comments. I think this speaks to what is needed in present-day America and would hope that President Obama is aware of its message
